Walmart Summer Clearance for Little Kid's Clothes

I can't walk through Walmart without checking out the clearance racks for kids clothes. Today I found Faded Glory sundresses for $5, Mary Kate and Ashley shirts and dresses for $7, Littlest Pet Shop t-shirts for $5, bathing suits for $3 and cotton shorts for $2.

I've said it time and time again but off-season shopping is the way to go! I also like to buy cute short-sleeve shirts a size too large, and layer them over long sleeve t-shirts for winter. This is a trendy look and a great way to wear those short sleeve shirts you pick up on sale, without having to wait until spring. Click Here to Read More..

Save Money with Airfare Watchdog

If you know you want to fly between certain cities but you have flexbility as to when the trip will happen, Airfare Watchdog is a great money-saving tool.

You can sign up to receive airfare alerts when the airfare drops to the price you specify. For example, I know I want to fly Atlanta to Las Vegas for leisure sometime within the next year. Tickets are normally $350 and up. On Airfare Watchdog I entered my target price of $200 or less. Whenever a sale fare is found for that rate, I receive an email. It's fantastic!

Airfare Watchdog lets the website do the bargain-hunting for you. It is important to book the airfare as soon as you receive the alert though because the price is subject to change at any moment.

Go to their website and set up a City to City Fare Alert. You can even set up more than one! Click Here to Read More..

Linens N Things Going Out of Business Sale

At least two Linens N Things in my local area are going out of business. They have huge signs in the windows for this 'going out of business sale' but I didn't find the deals to be very good. Most items are only 25% off at this time. Given their high prices on household items you can still find most comparable merchandise at Target for lower prices. I did pick up a bag of Coldstone Creamery flavored Jelly Bellies candy for 25%-off though. I never see those on sale anywhere. Click Here to Read More..

Deals on Designer Sandals

Any bargain shopper knows it's best to buy off-season. So right now is an excellent time to stock up on the sandals you'll need for that winter vacation or for next summer. It takes a little hunting, and an open mind, but you're sure to find great deals. Just make sure you wear the shoes around the house to make sure they are comfy. You won't be able to return them next spring.

My favorite brand is Born shoes. This week I bought some brand new Born brown leather sandals for $10 (plus $8 shipping) on eBay. They retail for $60. I also picked up two pair of Naturalizer sandals(one pair brown, one pair black) for $10 each at TJ Maxx yesterday. They retail for $50 each.

My total spend $38 for three brand new pair of high quality sandals for Summer 2009. Total retail value $160.

Image is Everything

I really do not have much money at all but here are the kinds of things people regularly say to me:

"Wow, who does your hair? I LOVE it!"

"It must be nice to travel as much as you do!"

"You sure eat out a lot...and at all the great restaurants. How do you do it?"

"That's a great jacket. Who's the designer?"

The thing is - I pay $14 for my hair cut at
Great Clips
and color it at home for about $4.

I travel when I see great deals and I never pay anywhere near what most of my friends pay for vacations.

I eat out for free several times a week - I'm a mystery shopper - that's my hobby.

And the jacket - I got it at
Dots
, a clothing store with very low prices.

This is just the tip of the iceberg though...the point is, nobody needs to know how much you spend or how you get the things you get. Keep your mouth shut, smile and nod...and you'll portray and image of being well-off financially. I live my life as a classy but cheap chick! Click Here to Read More..
